Bubble tea originated in tea shops in Taiwan during the 1980s and now its popularity has taken the world by storm. Bubble tea is a sweet, colourful, cool and refreshing beverage containing a tea base, mixed with fruit flavour and/or milk. The drink is shaken to create a foamy texture and at the bottom of this beverage your palate will be surprised with soft, chewy tapioca balls called “pearls” or with coconut jellies. The drink is available in a variety of flavors and can be made with crushed ice for those intolerable hot Doha days.
